Dating Site Review: American Singles

American Singles is an affordable dating site that offers a quality product.  Here are some pros and cons of the site:

Pros

• The $29.99 per month subscription fee is a little higher than some other sites, but not too draining on your wallet for the services they provide.

 

• Canceling your membership can be easily done online.

• You are notified each time a user visits your profile, and likewise, users are notified when you visit their profile.  There is not a stealth mode option like some other sites have.

• They don’t have video or voice capability but they do have chat rooms, message boards, and E-cards.  The E-cards are their version of the unobtrusive flirt.

• Website navigation is easy and the homepage has an in-depth informational section on that lays out how many people have viewed you, flirted with you, etc.  This is one area of American Singles where they shine above most other sites.

• The selection of girls isn't as large as some sites, but it's definitely nothing to sneeze at either.

• Maybe the best feature of the site is that they show the weight and height of the girls.  This is nice because most other dating sites let girls say they are "athletic build" when in reality they're actually 5’3” and 170 lbs.  Come on, what are they thinking???

• American Singles allows users to filter profiles and perform a search by displaying the most popular profiles first.  So basically the profiles that are getting the most views will pop up first.  This is essentially a way to filter the girls from "stunning to stock pig".

Cons

• You can’t filter a search by body type or weight, which makes it hard to weed out the fatties.

• It could be possible that they send out exciting emails from fake members to keep you interested in staying on the site.  I received a couple of emails and got no responses after I replied.  I know there is one other site that uses this tactic, so it could be possible that American Singles does as well.

There might be better options out there, but you won’t be disappointed with American Singles.  Give it a try and see that I'm right.
