Face Care Tips for Men
The difference in appearance between a guy who takes care of his face and a guy who doesn't is pretty huge. You might not notice it personally, but women notice this stuff as if it's their sixth sense, and they're who you're trying to impress, right?
No matter how good of a job you're doing at face care procedures, chances are you can probably stand to improve. These tips are in order starting with the most basic advice and continuing on to more advanced advice. If you really want to have great facial skin, you should be doing all of these things, but at the very least make sure you're doing the first three.
Face Soap
The absolute first, foremost and basic step you should be taking with facial care is to use a face soap in the shower. Regular bars of soap that you use on the rest of your body will dry out your face and leave you looking like a scrabone. Very important: do not use a face soap that contains alcohol. That will just further serve to dehydrate your face. For that matter, I like to avoid using any face care products that contain alcohol. The sign of a healthy face is a moisturized face. Alcohol works against this.
I keep two face soaps in my shower. One with exfoliating beads and one regular face soap. On days when I am going to shave, I wash with the exfoliating beads. This helps clear away dead skin more effectively than regular soap which is a plus for getting a close shave.
Moisturizer
You should apply lotion to your face at least once daily. Be sure to use a lotion that is intended for use on the face. Moreover, get a lotion with SPF 15 sunscreen to help protect your face from harmful UV rays emitted by the sun.
After Shave Lotion
Find a good moisturizing after shave lotion and use it generously following each shave. This is crucial for helping repair skin that has been stressed from a razor. On this note, shave often. Almost no man looks better with facial hair than without it and you're probably not the exception.
Eye Balm and Chapped Lip Treatment
Baggy, swollen eyes and wrinkles around the eyes make you look years older. The eyes are where people will be primarily focused when they are with you. Keep the skin around your eyes looking good with a good eye balm made to tighten the skin around the eyes. Jack Black's (not the actor) men's care products have a good eye balm.
Toner
Almost no men use this product but I believe it is critically important. A face toner helps remove oil and grit from the skin's surface and also helps tighten the skin which reduces lines, wrinkles and pock-holes caused by childhood acne. If you're serious about facial care, use a toner daily.
Mask
If you're really serious about face care, use a face mask once a week. This is a product that you rub on your face and leave for 5-10 minutes. During this time, it hardens and is able to be peeled off. When a face mask is removed excess oil, grease and impurities are removed along with it leaving behind a gorgeous looking mug. Try a face mask once and you'll be hooked after seeing how great your face looks.
