Marcus Ng is a Director in AlphaBeta’s Singapore office.
Prior to joining AlphaBeta, he established and led the Deloitte Southeast Asia Economics Advisory practice from 2017 to 2022. Marcus has over 15 years of economic analysis and public policy experience in roles with Deloitte Access Economics—Australia’s premier economics consultancy—and at central policy agencies: the Australian Treasury, and the Reserve Bank of Australia.
As an economics advisor, Marcus has led a range of economic studies and analyses of public policy and regulatory reform—including on economic development policy, industry policy, and financial regulation—for both public and private sector clients in the Asia-Pacific. Marcus has also led socio-economic impact studies, including as part of infrastructure feasibility assessments, and to help clients understand the policy and commercial implications of megatrends such as digital disruption and sustainability. He has also undertaken economic contribution studies and social impact assessments for private sector firms involved in industries from agriculture and construction, to technology and tourism.
Marcus’ previous public sector experience has included institutional markets analysis with a focus on banking sector funding and lending; the design of capital markets policy and financial regulation; and international macroeconomic policy, including on the G20 and IMF.
Marcus has been a regular presenter on the regional economic outlook, and on issues such as international trade, economic and industry development, and sustainability.
